Ok so for the longest time I told my bf to read the twilight series. At first he refused and just recently he read all of them. Points for me. I considered that an accomplishment. He knows all to well about me reading fanfic but i never asked if he was interested because I thought just reading the series was pushing my luck. Well today he surprised me by telling me he was bored at work and decided to look up some fanfic and actually read one. hahahha. Ok so to make my point what are some good stories that guys can read or stories that can ease him in to the fanfic world?
any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ;D

Wow. I can't even get mine to acknowledge the books, much less get him to read them. Fics that are boy-appropriate... Hmm... Well, does he like sci-fi? Humor? Mystery? Horror? Would he rather read from Bella's POV or laugh at our lame attempts to write in a guy's POV? (Oh, don't get mad. We're girls. Of course our guy POVs aren't spot on.) Is he okay with reading smut? And I'm guessing slash is completely off the table. Just from looking at my alerts on FFn and Twilighted, I've come up with two. AU - Abbracciare il Cantante by Bratty-Vamp Pros: Completed, companionable to Twilight series for first time fic readers Cons: Has smut in it AH - Hiding in Plain Sight by Limona Pros: Great mystery and action Cons Has smut in it ...I see a trend in a lot of our stories. JS Hope those help!

Wow.
My guy agreed to read the books for me, but I let him off the hook. He really didn't want to, and they're not very straight-man-friendly, let's be honest.
I'm majorly impressed by your BF's loyalty!
Umm... I'll blatantly copy Christine's method here:
If Love Could Light a Candle by Pastiche Pen Pros: It's got murdering Darkward, funny therapy sessions, and (so far) no smut. They'll probably be some later, but it's clean for now. Cons: The ExB fluff is heavy, but if he survived the books, it shouldn't be an issue.
That's all I can think of for now that might have guy appeal... Christine named a couple good ones...

Mr. Jax will never in a million bajillion years read Twilight... come to think of it, I don't know if he's ever read a whole book. Pathetic. There are three things I'm not aloud to mention anymore: Twilight, Harry Potter, and Star Wars.
Is he into politics? I just started a Twific that sorta has a West Wing twang to it... twang? well, you know what I mean. I'm too lazy to find it now, but if you think he'd be interested I'll get you all the details. It's VERY smart and political and overly left winged (which I'm not) and "deep"... maybe boring? I haven't decided yet.
Wow. Worst plug ever. Sorry author.

Mr. S.W wouldn't read it either. He doesn't make fun of my involvement in the fandom and actually praises my mad photoshopping skillz (thanks AG - your tutorials make it look like I have skillz! ), but he won't ever pick up the books or read any FF. Actually he doesn't read all that much. And he lives in England so this is based on what he tells me when I tell or show him what I've been up to lately. If I talk about HP, Twilight or anything else remotely geek-y in person he kinda rolls his eyes, but he listens and (I hope) thinks I'm cuter for it. *sidenote: parts of, at lease the first, HP movies were filmed in Gloucester Cathedral (the cloisters for hallway shots I believe) and that is where he lives!* He does however appreciate my love of books because if I'm reading then he can channel surf and I won't kill him! LOL.

Sounds like you have a keeper! My hubby read the series, and is interested in some of the fics I am talking about, but he wants to wait until they are complete. The ones he is most interested in (and is waiting for) are: - The Fallout - www.fanfiction.net/s/4946176/1/- Creature of Habit - www.fanfiction.net/s/4946176/1/- Vampire in the Basement - www.fanfiction.net/s/4887478/1/The_Vampire_in_the_BasementNotice - All of them are vampy. None of them are fluffy. I figure your guy can handle a bit of romance as he got thru the series ok... What I don't get is why people seem to think guys don't want to read smut?!?!?!? Sure guys may get off on pictures more than words, but do you really think they will turn their noses up to the written word? I dunno 'bout that. Just for fun you should get him to read Midnight Desires, just to see what happens...hehehe. My guess will be a sharp uptick in his wanting you to wear skirts...And what could be wrong with that?

I assume guys don't want smut because the boyfriend has blatantly told me he doesn't want to read my word porn before. He likes the pictures better. Moving ones are preferred.
But assumptions tend to do that thing... you know the one. I refuse to say it however.

Mr. Polyphany read all 4 books and enjoyed them. He made his book club read Twilight...it was so funny listening to 6 guys, that are all total geeks rate Twilight (2 broken legs, 3 mountain lions...Hubs gave it 8 potential hospital trips, LOL). He won't touch fan fic with a 10 foot pole, but I'd probably recommend an AU with cannon pairings to start.

I wonder how it turned out? It's been more than a week... Has he read any yet? Does he care about smut?
Inquiring minds want to know!

Hey guys. Sorry I didn't respond sooner. RL sucks and I have been busy working. blahhh. Anyways the bf as far as I know and what he told me is more interested in vampire stuff no all human for him. I know he was reading some pack fic but he always forgets the title. He say no smut but I think if he read some maybe he'll change his mind. Also he wanted something more fantasy like. But lately he hasn't been reading either, too busy prepping himself for this bboy competition in LA later this month. But suggestions would still be awesome.

Well then all of my rec's are still good. The Fallout and Vampire in the Basement are both around halfway in, and no smut on the horizon any time soon... Creature of Habit is close to completion. It does have some sex in it, but it is not the whole point of the story. It happens later in the scheme of thins, and it is short and to the point, yet very good and satisfying for the story. Let us know how it goes!

My boyfriend already reads fan fiction, and every once in a while I'll send him a twilight fan fiction. From what I've sent him he seems to like String Theory by Dooley and In The Blink of an Eye by that_writr. Twilight is probably the most female intensive fandom I've ever seen.
