Hi ladies. I love the podcast and enjoy every minute. I've really liked all the guests you've had recently too. They add their own twist to things and it's all win.
I have a question for you all. I know you've discussed the benefits of readers reviewing and once I heard that, I have made a huge effort to review because I now get it that authors are looking for some kind of feedback for all their efforts. But what I'm curious about is reviewing fics that are already complete or the reader started reading way after the fact. I would think that the authors want immediate gratification as they post chapters so how important is it for readers to review older fics? Do authors even care at that point once they've moved on to other projects? Just curious if I should spend gobs of time reviewing these oldies but goodies. Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks for the time you put into the podcast and for all the great recs. I have been reading everything you recked and I'm loving them all (even a little slash thanks to Christine!)
Thanks again, Beans827

Didn't think I would but now I'm hooked. I've totally gotten into the boy on boy. It's totally hot! Although I have to say that I can't picture it as Rob/Jackson so I have this guy at my work that is an exact replica of what a Gay Edward would look like so I "use" him. It totally works for me! LOL! Kenosha, Yes, I can see that a complete story would garner way less reviews since many just wait to review to the end since it's already complete. That's a good point on how some good fics could get overlooked because of low review count when in reality they are complete and deserve the shout outs. Thanks for the response! As always, Fan for LIfe Beans827

I don't even look at review count anymore. If the story idea intrigues me, I'm going to at least give it a try.
And Beans, I don't think of Rob/Jackson either. In my mind, they're just two extremely attractive men who like to touch each other. (Mmmmm....)

But what I'm curious about is reviewing fics that are already complete or the reader started reading way after the fact. I would think that the authors want immediate gratification as they post chapters so how important is it for readers to review older fics? Do authors even care at that point once they've moved on to other projects? Absolutely we do. *grin* I've been writing and posting fanfic since 2000, so I have a number of older stories. There's one that I posted back in 2001 called "Letters and Papers from Prison." It's an X-men story that looks at the effect of Magneto's memories of the Holocaust on Rogue. This story STILL gets feedback, and I respond to all of it. Sometimes I don't receive feedback, particularly on archives. I may not check on archives for months. But all the fiction on my website has both email address links and links to posts in live journal for commentary, and I WILL respond. The only reason I wouldn't is if I didn't get it. And I'll also add that some really POWERFUL feedback has come to me months, even YEARS after the story/novel was posted. So yeah! Send it on!
